Too Infinity and beyond

So You have 40k or GW burnout......I know I do. Sometimes it is great running company size armies to do battle....in the distant really distant future but what about squad level, individual and small group tatics....in 40k it really does not exist.

Entropmancer and I have been drooling over the Infinity models (as have many a people have been too) but the price was crazy....about $10 + a figure and how many figures are you gonna need?

Well at WWW.infinitythegame.com they have the rules available for download. and Yes the figures cost that much but Entropmancer are looking at @ $80 for our starter sets.....well his is a box set plus a few blisters and mine is all blisters. Is this replacing 40k, Necromunda, or any other game made by GW....no but something else to play when i get tired of the GW BS.....

I have yet to play a game yet but will be shortly against Entropmancer this weekend.....150pts Hassiqulam (Entropmaner) vs Ariadna (me). Keep you posted with updates.....including the 2 figures I have painted so far.

Giddy as a Nun! THE SEQUEL

More News From Blood of Kittens and my View points

It is that time again, thanks for reading and posting your questions. Let me start by letting everyone know I have no idea (or will never know for sure) about new model releases. I don’t know if the new sisters release will be resin or plastic or the numbers in the boxes, but like I said before my bet is on Finecast re-release. Now with that out-of-the-way on to new rules…

What is not in the Codex

•Repressors (Come on GW just release it already)

•Arbites
(ok......GW has been trying to kill them off for a while....)

The Units (more information than others)

Canoness: Here is my special shout out to the Canoness: you are terrible. I mean grossly underpowered. Now this is going to sound like a cop-op, but I am not going into details because my hope is that she will be changed before release. It just sounds and looks like she is an unfinished product. She gets her own retinue that cannot do anything; she starts out cheap, but her upgrades are expensive and lame when you compare to everything else. So here is hoping to GW getting her fixed. ( THis beeter not mean I am losing my Flying Nun of DOOM)

Repentia: Forgot to mention they have fleet (this is cool)

Celastians: Cheaper than a Marine, but not really anything going for them (that I know of)… extra attack. Re-roll hits for act of faith (i was hoping for ignore cover rounds or something but...)

Sister Battle Squad: Can still get a Heavy Flamer (This makes me happy)

Shraphim: They are pretty amazing. Cheaper than a Space Marine you get a Jump Packing, Hit and Running, and an act of faith that has them re-rolling wounds. You can also upgrade them to run with double hand flamers and melta pistols. They act both as an extra close combat weapon and become assault 2 instead of being twin-linked. So that means Assault 2 melta weapons. (Assault 2 flamers.......really.......i think this is just for the melta weapons)

Dominion Squads: Still get 4 special weapons. Act of Faith twin-linked. (Twin linked stormbolters....:) )

Retributor Squads: Pretty fantastic. CHEAP! Talking under Long Fang cheap to fully kit out. Expect the return of the Heavy Bolter with these. Act of Faith is Rending. (oh.......YAH now i need a second HVY Bolter squad)

Penitent Engines: Again fantastic. Same statline (Walker). No Scout or Infiltrate. Cheaper and can be a squadron aka 9 Engines. They still get the 1D6 attacks, but any wounds generate additional attacks (don’t know if they work like Blood Talons). 6+ Invul (don’t know if they generate faith) ( this kit is a nightmare...not as bad as the exorcist but something the size of a sentinel in pewter with arms....and now I have to actually build them......%#$@!)

That is all I got guys, if I get more will let you know. As always you can get a new developments by following Blood of Kittens

This sounds good...but there are things i want to know but only time will tell

Giddy as a NUN?

From the Blog by Blood of Kittens:
And one SoB players viewpoints so read on Fellas,

From Blood of Kittens
As always let us start with the easy ones that pretty much everyone figured was going to happen.

•Allies gone (never used allies with my SoB so really no effect for me, but makes me happy none the less)

•Inquisition gone ( You are the weakest link good bye! The Inq was always a crutch in my eyes expensive for their use and overall not worth the points.....except for the Land Raider....that i never used)

•Faith streamlined (Can't complain....the rumors sound good so far....)

•USRs updated to 5th (ABOUT FREAKING TIME!)

•Cheaper Unit costs (better include RHINOS, Frag greandes....etc)

So let start with the big one and perhaps most controversial change to Sisters of Battle: Faith

I was amazed reading around the Net how quite a few people are pretty close to understanding how Faith is going to work. One caveat about the faith rules: I only have most of the story so let us hope someone else can pluck the rest from the aether. The only thing that really stays the same is only faith producing units can use faith. Gone is the over and under rules based on model count and gone is faith powers that everyone can use. It is replaced with every unit has its own unit specific act of faith to call upon.

So for instance Repentia Act of Faith allows them to always land an attack even if they are killed before they can swing. They are little bonuses like re-rolling to wound and hit, no USRs. Now this if fine and dandy if you just pop a faith point and bam! power goes off, but not so fast. Acts of Faith require that you roll 5+ to activate . This makes faith much more unreliable… maybe. In addition every unit that can get faith generates 1d6 faith points per turn. This also means that a new faith pool is generated each turn with no storing of past faith. As well faith can be activated in multiple phases of the game, so for instance you can re-roll to hit in your shooting phase or in your assault phase. What is not clear is a few things. Like how many dice can you throw at a single act of faith? How many times can you attempt to activated a power? If you get an act of faith to go off in one phase does it carry over to the next phase? If you fail an act of faith does that mean you cannot try again in another phase? I don’t have the answers, but what do you think? (repentias now have a use....and if every FAITHFUL unit generates 1d6 faith points (which in my 1850 army is all of them) at minimum of 8-9 units.....THAT a whole lotta Faith)

Random tidbits
•All Faith generating units get +6 invul save (heee 107 models with at least a 6+ invul save)

•All units that can get transports get Immolators or Rhinos (hmmmm)

•Assassins gone (Death Cult still in) (EDITED FOR MULTIPLE SWEAR WORDS BY OP not that I used but still)

•Wargear with the same names as GK wargear stay and get changed over. (e.g. Psybolt Ammo) (ehhhhhh....saw that coming)

•Karamazov gone (SO this just proves the laziest man in the universe is not part of the Ecclesiarchy but part of the INQ)

•Priests in, pretty much same as before. ( DUH......they are in 3 dexes why change what is not really broken)

•No change to the general Bolter, Melta, Flame concept of the Sisters (Wow GW did not try to reinvent the wheel)

Specifics\
Sisters have about 5 HQ choices including Special Characters ( Missionaries, Confessors, Canoness, Palatine and Repentia Mistress or something like that......or if i was to write the Codex would be the HQ choices.....)

St. Celestine: Same price as a Grand Master you get 2+/+4 saves, WS/BS 7 Jump Pack, Fleet, Power Weapons always wounds on 4+ Has the power to come back like GK Thawn if killed. (HEHEHEHEHE have to finish mine)

Confessor: Takes the slot of the old Inquisitors. Cheap HQ (Warboss). Can create a henchman band using most of the henchman found in the GK codex. What makes the Confessor extra deadly is the ability for it to re-roll hits and wounds for her and the squad. This is the translation of the rumor matrix. So think for one second about her and the Death Cult together? ( good thing I have 9 death Cult Assassains......but that is different I do plan on fielding a Confessor unless they have rules For Arch Confessor Kyrinov then OH YAH)

Repentia: Cheaper close to SM cost. FNP, Rage, Fearless, 6+ invul, no transports (Giddy.......)

Battle Sister Squad: Cheaper 10-20 unit size (no combat squads), but has access to Immolators which begs the question… Immolators either get increased transport capacity or Sisters break the rules concerning model count and buying transports. Multiple acts of faith. (no change for me unless........)

Exocists: Pretty much same as before. ( I was hoping for something a little less random but.....)

This is it for now gents and dames. If you have any questions let me know I can see if can get them answered sometime this week with another post.

WOW.......now i just need a flier for them.......off to paint, glue, build in a eager anticipation of this..... Later War009

Dishonesty, or are they eating paint chips at the tournament scene?

I have noticed that there seems to be a trend lately to hate on Games Workshop and their employees. Those doing it act as if they have been wronged, some acting if they ad their favorite puppy kicked by GW while being forced to watch their minis be melted down for scrap.

These people are full of shit. Period.

This isn't a matter of "fanboys" versus wronged customers. Nor is this, as those acting as if they have been wronged would try to convince you, a matter of a faceless corporation that ignores it's customer base.

it is a matter of childish jackasses that feel that t hey should have their army of the month provided to them free of charge, along with rules that allow them to win every game, plus a blowjob to boot.

The simple fact is that GW could not, and more importantly should not, give away their product. They are also unable to take a loss on sales. Nor can they allow third parties without the overhead that GW has sell products produced by GW without rules to regulate trade in order to preserve the value of their product.

This is because A) they have shareholders who have a right to expect that GW will make all reasonable efforts to make a profit on their business ventures, and B) Even if they did not have a legal obligation to stockholders, they cannot provide product for free or nearly free, as it costs money to produce.

This seems like fundamental economics, but many people posting on forums or in comments on blogs display an ignorance of these simple facts.

So, this begs the question: Are people that are able to do mathhammer( allegedly)
Really so ignorant of economics that they are unaware that product that needs manufacturing and shipping is something that is fundamentally unable to be provided free of charge, or are they being dishonest, and possibly have ulterior motives?

I say the answer is an unequivocal YES!!!

If you analyse their arguments, they are often full of fallacious argumentation, and often ignore the content of posts, such as comparing the cost of 40k versus other hobbies, and erring on the expensive side for 40k, and the inexpensive side for the other hobby.  each time, 40k is shown to either not be significantly more expensive, or , more often, less expensive, especially when used minis or discount sites are factored in. They then ignore te hobby aspect completely, failing to factor in that the hobby part of 40k is an intended part of enjoying 40k.
Then we get to the bashing GW as if they have personally attacked the poster, yet they still go to sites dedicated to a GW product, and post in threads dedicated to that topic.

Either they are up to something, or the hyper-competitive types are even more pants-on-head retarded than I thought.
