Ebooks and Me......THE SEQUEL

So a few months ago I wrote this blog.....eBooks and me discussing the different books I have bought from Black Library.

Well it is update time.......

I had really high hopesfor this book.......and was let down. Really similar to the previous version.

Oh baby.......Assassins available in all Imperial armies and you buffed the Assassains too....drool

Ok not an an Ultramarine fan but this was a nice surprise for Codex: Space Marines users......all terminators, dreads, landraiders, storm ravens and a Captain in terminator armour. The possibilites......and kicked again, but just in the shin. Normal Terminator Captain or Lysander  HQ sweet. Limiting the models I can take in a squad and what I can take kinda sucks but I like terminators......so

 Sister of Battle short story........I couldnt find my paperback. Plus I like this story.

 The Sequel to Faith & Fire.....Not as good as Faith & Fire but good story  featuring Necrons and Sanctuary 101

And the Legendary Grey Knights........um toned down quite a bit. No more Draigo wing  but I may be one of the few that like it better. Formation Nemesis Strike Force (1 hq 1 troop min) and deep strike on turn 1....YES PLEASE! Let see so 6 model minimum and all terminators. A list I am working on I gains 10 Force points before dice rolls at 1500 pts...PS did I mention I like Terminators

Grrrrr.....

So I am firm believer in purchasing from your FLGS but sometimes it is not possible. The option then resorts to internet retailers via stores, ebay or whatever. Now I have bought and sold on ebay and online before plus my girlfriend has her own online boutique, so I do have an understanding of customer service.

I have purchased multiple items from stores online and received various results. Most stores I would do buisness with. Two certain store I will not......but I will not name them here.

My complaints:

Listing product you "have" but when it is purchased you cant find it.......and taking a week to notify the purchaser. Really WTF!

Sending out your tracking information but not sending the item out......or in the recent case saying the package was damaged and returned to sender....I had the tracking for a week and it updated last night as finally being sent.... sure you sent it.

Listen I bought a gaming figures and you telling me it was returned damaged I get that, asking how I want to proceed, Awesome, but after asking for the refund you get to me 3 buisness days later.....shady. I am a gamer I know Valhalla was this weekend. you could have said "hey sorry man I gonna be at tourney all weekend cool if i send it to you next week." not saying anything is douchey.

Jacking up prices.....we know you have to turn a profit too, we get that but recently a certain retailer (once again un named) had a "sale" for some figures.....funny thing was the price was higher than normally from same seller.....

Know I have found some really good retailers in gaming and my other hobbies.....but as the saying goes, Do a good job the customer tells 2 friends, do  a bad job the customer tells 5. So FRP games and Spikey bits.....you both grind my gears.

Hmmmm......yeah about that.

So 2 years later a new edition 40k edition is coming out........another $75 book. I'm not gonna nerd rage about GW, 40K, or anything...........I wont be buying it anytime soon, that is a FACT!

My solution is simple. INFINITY the Game. Yes a new edition is coming but the Corvus Belli has been hard at work with creating new partnerships with various companies like antenocities workshop, plast craft games, and warsenal  and continuing with their old partnerships. New terrain is available through the various companies which is one of the hardest things about playing Infinity is terrain (90% + of 40K terrain is too gothic ruins).

Plus now my Merovingian Rapid Response Force (Force de Reponse Rapide Merovingienne) now have a tag available. 

Mine wont be green tho.......

So I think I have a problem.......or I'm just cheap.

and I can trace my problems to one thing.....

When Black Library Released the Adepta Sororitas book I thought its just the one.....(Yes I did pre order it)

Then they released this book:

Which I pre ordered this book too. And thought well I'm done now....

SO WRONG on my part.....as of today here is my eBook collection:

Codexes, Data Slates and Supplements:

 

So I was not a fan or the ebooks, supplements, Codex, dataslate at first. But obviously they have grown on me. I still need to pick up the Knight codex and if they EVER release the Scions book I will get that one too. Debating on getting the Space Marines, Escalation,  and Main Rulebook as it is nice having all my books on my tablet. 

Here's a little something I did a few yearsback, and Now I have added a little digital magick. This has been the sort of thing that has driven my design philosophy when I convert a model. I have many influences, but John Blanche is the strongest. Keen eyed observers will notice the homage, which has translated through to my death guard models, seven of which carry a rotting chalice as their squad marking.

In the next few weeks and months, I will, If everyone wants, posrt ant further pieces I do, with various 40k subjects, game related whims, or whatever subjects are suggested.
